Aged Franklin Woman Dies Sunday Evening – Mrs J T Yokley died at 6:20 o’clock Sunday evening at her home on Hendricks Street. The deceased was a native of Simpson County and was born June 20, 1852. Her maiden name was Melissa Ann Sadler. She professed faith in Christ at the age of 14 and lived as a devout and consecrated Christian during the remainder of her life. On June 9, 1870, she became the wife of James W Yokley, who died several years ago. To them were born 10 children, 2 of the number dying in infancy. The surviving children are John W Yokley of Nashville, Tn, Paul Yokley of Mitchellville, Tn, Jonah, Curtis, George Yokley and Madams J D Butt and W A Meador of Franklin. Thirty-three grandchildren and 7 great – grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held at the chapel of House and Bryan Tuesday afternoon. Rev Gus Austin, of Portland, Tn and Rev Carey E Witt being in charge. The remains were interred at Green Lawn Cemetery.
